Adult leaders are coming together on August 18, 2012 to share their hobbies, interests and life skills with Scouts from all around the Iron Horse District. One of the many benefits of the Scouting program is the opportunity for young men to meet business leaders, trained specialists, and enthusiastic hobbyists from their communities.
Four Troops from Frisco, TX have joined together to present the 2nd annual Iron Horse Merit Badge College. The program will feature a wide variety of classes. The program will be open to all Scouts. Please check back later for more information.
Date: August 18, 2012
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Morning session: 9 a.m. to Noon
Lunch: Noon to 1 p.m.
Afternoon session: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The fee for the whole day is only $15. Some courses may have additional fees due to material costs. Pizza by the slice will be available for purchase at lunch. Price still to be determined.
The merit badges listed below are currently being offered at the college. The Iron Horse Merit Badge College committee is actively recruiting counselors and working out the details for each class. Be sure to check back often for additions and updates. Classes that do not have adequate participation are subject to consolidation or cancellation.
Currently, scouts must be a rank of Second Class or above to attend.
Only
first class scouts and above will be allowed to take the eagle-required sessions. Scouts who qualify for an eagle-required session will only be allowed to register for
one session. Merit badges required for Eagle are
highlighted.
All scouts
must be in uniform with official BSA shirt and shorts.
